Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
The App is provided by Dancing Sloth Games (“we”, “us”, “our”), operated by Haglo Limited of United Kingdom. For any privacy question, contact us at contact@sleepyslothgames.com.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you provide
- Account information (optional). If you choose to sign in with Sign in with Apple, we receive a stable, opaque user identifier and either your email address or a private Apple relay address, plus the display name you choose to share. You can use the App without signing in.
- Player profiles. Player names and any photos you add to a player profile. Player photos are stored only on your device unless you explicitly choose to sync or share them.
- Support correspondence. If you email us we will see your email address and the contents of your message.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Device and diagnostic data. When the App crashes or hits an error we collect a crash report containing device model, operating system version, app version, a stack trace, and a randomly generated installation ID. This is processed by our crash reporting provider (see Section 4) and is not used to identify you.
- Purchase data. If you buy a subscription or in-app purchase, we receive an anonymous purchase identifier and the status of your subscription (active, expired, cancelled, etc.) so we can deliver your benefits across devices.
- Push notification token. If you grant notification permission, the operating system gives us a push token that lets us send you notifications. The token does not contain personal information about you.
2.3 Microphone, speech recognition, camera and photos
- Microphone & speech recognition. Some game modes use your device's microphone and built-in speech recognition (provided by Apple on iOS or Google on Android) to detect spoken answers in real time. Audio is processed for the sole purpose of recognising your answer during a round. We do not record, store, or transmit your voice recordings to our own servers. Speech transcription itself is handled by your operating system — please see Apple's and Google's privacy policies for how they process speech.
- Camera & photos. If you choose to add a player photo we will ask permission to access your camera or photo library. Photos remain on your device.
2.4 App Tracking Transparency (iOS)
On iOS, the App may show the standard App Tracking Transparency prompt. SlothSays does not currently use any third-party tracking, advertising, or cross-app analytics SDKs. If we ever introduce them, we will only enable them after you grant permission, and we will update this Privacy Policy first.
3. How we use information
We use the information described above only to:
- provide, operate and improve the App and its game features;
- deliver and manage subscriptions and other in-app purchases;
- diagnose crashes and fix bugs;
- send notifications you have asked to receive;
- respond to your support requests;
- comply with our legal obligations and protect against abuse or fraud.
4. Third-party services
We use a small number of carefully selected third-party services to operate the App. Each one only receives the data it needs to do its job.
- Apple App Store / Google Play. Process all in-app purchases. Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy and Google's Privacy Policy.
- RevenueCat. Manages subscription state and entitlements across devices. Receives an anonymous app user ID and purchase receipts. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
- Sentry. Collects anonymised crash and error reports. See Sentry's Privacy Policy.
- Supabase. Hosts the App's backend (game content and, where applicable, account data). See Supabase's Privacy Policy.
- Apple (Sign in with Apple, Push Notification Service, on-device speech recognition). See Apple's Privacy Policy.
- Expo (notifications infrastructure). Used to deliver push notifications. See Expo's Privacy Policy.
We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
5. Legal basis for processing (UK / EU users)
Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract — to provide the App and any subscription you purchase.
- Legitimate interests — to keep the App secure, fix crashes, and prevent abuse.
- Consent — for optional features such as microphone access, push notifications, or App Tracking Transparency. You can withdraw consent at any time in your device settings.
- Legal obligation — where we must keep records, e.g. for tax purposes related to purchases.
6. Children
SlothSays is suitable for a general audience but is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
7. Data retention
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described above. Crash reports are typically retained for up to 90 days. Purchase records are retained for as long as required by tax and accounting law. If you delete your account (where applicable) we will delete or anonymise your associated personal data within a reasonable period, except where we are legally required to keep it.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- correct information that is inaccurate;
- request deletion of your information;
- object to or restrict certain processing;
- request a portable copy of your information;
- withdraw consent at any time;
- complain to your local data protection authority. In the UK that is the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

9. International transfers
Some of the third-party services listed above are based outside your country — including in the United States. Where your information is transferred internationally we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the UK and EU.
10. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information using industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit. No system is perfectly secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. If we make material changes we will provide additional notice (for example, in-app or by email).
